Good Day Giveaway

Myself and the delightful Jamie Mills have decided to join illustrator forces for a super-massive-fun giveaway.
Up for grabs is a Day Out In London With Sani And Jamie!  We will sort out travel for you to come to London at a time that suits you (and us) take you out for the day and even take you out for dinner!  We will surely have a grand day.

OR ...
If, however, you don't want this or are not UK-based (apologies but flight fares might be pushing it) we are offering an alternative prize of a custom, collaborative illustration just for you!  Which is still pretty special.  We will also prepare a package of lovely illustrations, zines, books and whatever we can lay our grubby hands for the winner; some of which you can see on our websites and in our Etsy shops. ( JamieMe ) We promise it will be a bomb!

There will also be second and third place prizes of a selection of goodies from us! Lots of prizes!

If you would like the chance to win a day with myself and Jamie and all the other treats, then all you have to do is leave a comment below and tell us about a good day you've had.  Doesn't have to be the best day of your life, just a day that was particularly good.  If you'd like an extra entry then leave a comment over on Jamie's blog as well. We will only count it once of course ;-)

We'll be drawing the winners on Monday 5th September when we are together so get your comments in before then!

We look forward to meeting you !!!

Sandra...I think this is my lucky day...I found you through Irene on Imaginative Bloom...then I went to "Like" you on Facebook...and by chance I see you have the MOST incredible Giveaway...
BUT this is not all...this Summer I am hosting Art Camp from my house here in Canada...I was born and raised in Kent...just outside London UK...AND will be over at Christmas as all my family is there....
So back to Art Camp...I have a wonderful grough of 7 campers aged 5-11 and I think some of them are actually getting it! I have been teaching them more of a traditional way of drawing...which is what I learnt at the Spanish Art School I went to...they all have LOTS of energy, and WANT to learn...tomorrow is Animal day at Art Camp...care to join us? I would buy the air fare if I had the funds...but as you know...Artists survive as best they can.
So...I have good days everyday...but today, because I met you and saw Jamie's work...it was extra special.

Thanks for the fabulous giveaway...can we postpone the "meeting" until Christmas?

What a great prize idea!! My latest good day was on a trip to Cornwall, we had journeyed out to a place called Kynance Cove which is just beautiful like a little magical cove that is hidden across some moors... Here is a beautiful picture!

http://conservation-issues.co.uk/CI-UK%20Gallery/2.%20Habitats%20&%20Conservation/slides/Kynance%20Cove,%20Cornwall.jpg

For some reason hardly anyone else had arrived when we got there on this sunny morning, and it felt as if we were the only people in the whole world.

We spent the day variously paddling in the sea, exploring rock pools, walking around the pretty coastline and finally enjoying ice creams and the sunshine.

On the way back to our lodgings I surprised my boyfriend with a trip to see Harry Potter - he is a huge fan and then went to a tiny Indian restaurant in Truro for our evening meal afterwards.

Such a good day! le sigh!! :)

a recent good day out was discovering a fantastic little boutique childrens bookstore in the middle of nowhere. It was the kind of place that had quirky nooks, dressed windows, lovely displays and a big white painted door. I had a coffee in hand and spent forever reading beautifully illustrated titles and hard-to-find treasures.

I had a very good day yesterday. I finished my work at home and I spontaneously told myself "let's go to see an exhibition". And I walked throught Prague and discovered a brand new gallery with young art. It was in a great destroyed old palace building, so I had a pleasure to see great art and old architecture at once in an interesting mixture. Then I sat on a bench in a park and I red a book, and as it was hot, I ended up with a delicious ice-cream. Such a great journey ;)

I'm not from UK, but I'd like to participate as well ;)

This is a great idea!! A very good day I had recently was when my parents came to visit and we did tonnes of touristy things in Wales like visit castle, st fagans etc. Was pretty good :)

oh wow, this is brilliant idea! Too bad I'm not UK based. Darn.

A good day for me would be when my friend and I went out to the city without any idea of what we were going to do... we bought crepes, walked all the way to the other side, and after a while we ended up in an alleyway watching these awesome artworks being done by graffiti artists. It was really lovely.

That is such a cool idea!

I had a great day going to an little island in France this summer, and spent the day sunbathing (you know, because it was...wait for it.... sunny! something I've missed this summer in the UK!) and eating ice creams! We took loads of photos of boats, and even had a little walk in the sea! and we then went to see a French "stonehenge" which was so weird, it was just row upon row on stones! It was really nice, and I came home with a sunburn (I never go brown, so this was my tan!)

I would love to spend the day with you both! A good day out I have had was a cinema marathon with my old cinema friend. She moved back to Poland after our bookshop shut(sob). We spent about 6 hours once, watching films, eating popcorn and sweets. It was wonderful!

REALLY! You must tweet me when things like these happen Sandratjie! Oh wait. I just went back to twitter and saw you tweeted.

Anyway, to the point: A good day.

I drove out to see a guy that I like and we had a fantastic day relaxing and cooking and playing Xbox. On my drive home I had a car accident and woke up in the emergency room with a scratch and a bruise. So grateful. The guy brought me flowers in hospital so when I got home I painted him an artwork to say thank you.

(Wish I could come and hang with you and J in London. You two should come to South Africa on holiday. Summer is on its way!)

O.M.G what a seriously amazing giveaway! You two are equal parts awesome, i love reading your banter on twitter!

My good day was a few weeks ago in Berlin, you need a little bit of background info first. I have always had a dog in my life, so when i moved to Berlin, i had nothing! No dog, no cat, no budgie, no hamster, no fish, no NOTHING! I was seriously missing my canine affection and we couldn't even go to the zoo :(

So one day i went shopping and as i came out of Rewe there was a big, fat, chunky black lab tied up outside. This ball of fur looked exactly like my dog at home so i was mega excited, but the dogs in Berlin are so well trained they pay attention ONLY to their owners....so i thought this dog would ignore me like all the others do.

Boy was i wrong! I walk outside, look eyes with this dog, we each squint a little suspiciously at each other....then he starts crazily wagging his tail, getting the bum shake, and starts jumping up at me for a dog hug (not a hump) and kiving me kisses.

Seriously such a good day :D

Today has already been a good day because the sun is shining and I had no reason to leave my bed. I love mornings where I can just relax under the covers and hang out with my puppy and kitten. I am also heading back to school today, back to my studio. So exciting to create so much art this coming year. So many plans in my head. Your stuff is just brilliant!

haha WHAT A GIVEAWAY!
i had a really good day when i discovered twin peaks, watched all of season 1 in a row. i bought a shirt for 3 pounds (bargain) then realised there were toads living at the bottom of my garden and they let you touch them. they're colder than i expected. my life's pretty dull actually i guess.

Hi Sandra, what a lovely giveaway! Thank you!

I had a wonderful day just this past weekend. My husband and I sat out on our front porch all day, talking and listening to music. We made each other friendship bracelets, drank wine, ate crusty bread, and hung out with our two dogs. Then, that night, I worked on a new drawing and he made music (he's an electronic music artist). It was a day of little simple things, but we were both really happy!

It was also a wonderful day because the print I'd ordered off your Etsy shop arrived! Yippee! I love it by the way; it's hanging in my office right now. :)

Every day is a good day when I am surrounded by bears of the brown, spectacled, polar and panda variety. They smother me on the sofa every evening and I fall asleep with one special bear in my arms.

(Shush, they're real in my mind!)

Sandra, what an amazing giveaway!

The last amazing day out I can remember is with my boyfriend, a couple of months ago. I've been struggling with depression for a long time, and so good days are difficult to achieve, and then even remember. But on that day, I was happy & energised; we went for a walk along the sparse cliffs, and I sucked the fresh air into my lung, and breathed in the aroma of nature, of the outdoors. I felt real, for the first time in a long time. Then, we watched the film My Dog Tulip with homemade popcorn amongst fresh bed sheets. It was beautiful, and I felt happy.

Hmm, a really good day that first comes to mind was about three or four years ago when I went into the city (Bristol) and got my hair cut at this really cool place, then met up with my boyf (at the time) and a friend, and we went for lunch.

Then wandered around, taking lots of photos and exploring all the interesting independent shops and wound our way back up to our favourite diner and had these amazing milkshakes (mine was crunchie bar and honey) - we called ourselves the 'milkshake crew'.

After that, we went to the park and took even more photos, then went to check out an art exhibition by the Xynthetic guys. When we'd finished there, we said goodbye to our friend and went to the bf's Nan's birthday dinner. All in all, very fun :)

The day that was good was the day that I realize drawing was necessary part of me. It was a good day not a great day, because there is still a big space for improving... but the journey matters the most!

Have a good day :D yourselves!

Ruth Bradley's entry from Society 6 ::

Hello. Well firstly a good day is definitely one spent adventuring around London with new friends... but a good day I have already had would be...

One day I was in New York with some friends on a trip. I decided I wanted to see Coney Island but no one else wanted to so I decided to go on my own. I took the train all the way down and found a copy of Vice on a seat to read on the way. It was a really moody overcast September day so the sky was awesome. I put Tom Waits - "Coney Island Baby" on my ipod and wandered down the seafront. It was amazing i felt so free and alone, but that day it was perfect to be alone. I sat on the beach taking pictures and then spotted the aquarium. I spent the afternoon looking at fish and the best bit was some divers that were working on the glass in one aquarium. Their kit looked so old. I got the train back home then got ready and went out to this club night it took me ages to find in an old massage parlour. That is where I met the skinny white duke and took some of the best pictures I ever have taken. in the morning I had to get on the L wearing the same clothes as the night before and then do the walk of shame down 5th. Awesome, sweaty embarrassment.

I recently had a perfect picnic with my nieces and nephew. We went to a part where there's a big lake, spread out our blanket on the shore and ate sandwiches, and pretzels, and carrots & celery sticks. Then we looked along the pebbly beach and found lots of lovely pebbles and a few perfect goose feathers. We walked over to the long floating dock to check out what the fishermen were catching (not much), and enjoyed the way it wobbled on the waves. We headed back to the car, and planned to leave the park, but luckily one of the doors of the car didn't quite close.

We pulled off into a side parking lot to fix the situation, and we were all delighted to spy the most amazing playground. The kids spent another full hour playing. I enjoyed watching them, and left wishing they made adult sized playgrounds like that!

This is such a fantastic giveaway - It would be an amazing day.

My favourite day recently was last Saturday.
I took my little girl (3) on a trip to London and we spent hours in the Tate Modern.

She loved looking at all the artwork and spent loads of time trying to copy it.

It made me very proud to see her acting so grown up and showing a real appreciation for art.

I had a great picnic with my other half on Saturday and it was just lovely. There's this great park in Montreal on looking the St. Laurence river and it's perfect for reading, eating, biking and hiking! It was great to take advantage of a beautiful sunny day.

Thanks again and have a great day!

You creative cats always seem to do it up right. Not a bad idea for a giveaway, as everyone else has said.

So, I'm a big fan of the everyday. I am by nature a person bursting with happiness. So why should today be anything but a perfect day?

I haven't done anything too spectacular yet. But there's always joy in the little things, right?

I'm visiting my parents house in Michigan for the week. The weather is perfect today and it's just humid enough that you can hear frogs and crickets all day. I'm about to pick up my dog from the groomers, so he'll be extra cuddle-able. Aaaaaaaand I found some leftover potato salad in the fridge. Score! I also just got off the phone with the grandmother and it happens to be her 82nd birthday. Birthdays should always be perfect days, even if it's not even mine.

As for the afternoon, I'm gonna catch up with friends, one of whom is gonna treat me to the best hot fudge sundae in metro Detroit. Tonight, I'll probably go for a nice evening bike ride.

Not bad for just an average day. I'd say it's gonna be pretty damn perfect. :)

Sending you sunshine!
- Juliette

a perfect day that I had was the day I had a full booking of clients (bookings with all my favorite clients) and then a nice relaxing dinner out with my boyfriend at our favorite Italian restaurant. To top it all off, we went to our favorite coffee shop for some gourmet coffee and cake that was made that morning....Pure bliss (*^-^*)

The best day I had recently was mostly spent in bed. Our cat Norman Crystal got spayed and we had him run around in a handmade dragon costume, so he won´t lick his wound. (you can see that here: http://blog.vanillerygarden.com/2011/08/meet-our-pet-dragon.html) I adore my two furbabies. They come to me in the morning and purr their way into my sleepy head until I get up to make them breakfast, after that we cuddle a bit and I get up to make some tea and breakfast. That´s the thing: the cats are so beautiful, they make my fingers itch and I want to draw fur. (does that sound like I´m insane? Maybe I am!) Hours pass by, it´s just me, the mechanical pencils and the scratching noise on the paper. Making delicious organic salad and watching Lost In Translation before I go to bed early. Perfect bliss.

i love your work! i've got my fingers crossed...

my best day recently? a couple days ago I spent the day with my son, who's 18 months old. it was gorgeous and sunny, we went all over running errands, playing in the park, visiting with my husband's parents. just a really sweet day of being in the moment with him. oh, and he took a big nap and i worked on my artwork, which is always good. in the evening my husband came home from 3 days of working out of town, and we all celebrated his homecoming with lots of hugs and kisses. just a sweet day with my two favorite boys in the world!

eee this is so exciting.

i have had many memorable days as of late due to a summer travelling around thailand and lao. but one of my favourite days (although may not sound remarkable to some) was surprisingly a hungover one, reading a good novel in the sun whilst swinging from a hammock. This shortly followed by the most satisfying nap i have ever had.

Today has been a pretty good day so far. Nasty horrible rainy weather outside so I sat in bed all morning and read a lovely book (with the odd trip downstairs to make tea and grab biscuits) And now for an afternoon of illustration and more biscuits.

Such a gorgeous idea for a giveaway - there's nothing more precious than the time you can give someone :)
